Bajaj AMC
Building an AI-Ready Investment Team - From Compliance Accuracy to Client Intelligence
Story
Problem
Bajaj AMC's teams operate in a high-stakes, high-compliance environment where accuracy is non-negotiable and work volume is relentless. A prework survey identified five consistent challenges:
• Manual checking and compliance work - cross-referencing fund categorisations, reviewing documents, and validating regulatory filings were consuming analyst time that should have gone to insight generation.
• Handling large volumes of data - operational breakage logs, investor transaction datasets, and scheme performance data were being analysed manually with inconsistent output quality.
• Limited time for strategic work - the volume of operational tasks was crowding out deeper analytical and client-facing work.
• Breakdowns in cross-functional coordination - handoffs between RMs, product teams, and compliance were fragmented, slowing response times.
Time spent making reports - weekly and monthly MIS reports, investor documents, and performance packs were being built from scratch every cycle.
Solution
BOTS.ai (by HR Anexi) designed and delivered a 2 day PromptStart tailored for the asset management context, addressing not just productivity but the possibilities of AI in the asset management industry. The programme combined Understanding of Gen AI, prompting masterclass, Safe & Smart usage of AI and the Spark Stations Challenge.
The intervention included:
1. AI in Financial Services
Participants explored how leading AMCs, wealth platforms, and private equity firms globally are deploying AI from earnings call intelligence and portfolio monitoring to compliance automation.
2. Gen AI 101 and Prompting Masterclass
Understanding Generative AI vs traditional AI and how different Large Language Models (LLMs) work (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot). How AI will change your job, your tasks, your industry. Participants worked through prompt surgery on a real Bajaj AMC sales call transcript. The contrast between a vague prompt and a structured Role-Task-Context-Reasoning-Output prompt with participants doing a live Prompting Practice.
3. Safe, Smart & Secure AI Use
Teams learned about AI hallucinations and safe tool usage of Microsoft Copilot, When to trust AI vs verify and learn how to build the org’s internal AI usage culture
The Spark Stations Challenge - 10 Real Tasks, Live
Teams worked through 10 tasks drawn from actual Bajaj AMC workflows - research tool vendor evaluation, operational breakage analysis, pitch deck enhancement, profitability drivers dashboard, fund categorisation accuracy against SEBI definitions, customer complaint analysis and presentation, distributor communication, job description enhancement, competitor analysis, and SIP campaign concept development with AI-generated visuals – each task being done in minutes
